Bastille
Bastille are a British indie/alternative band. They have a really simple style, just basic black jeans and casual tops and shirts, their star image doesn't show a stereotypically indie band but their music is indie rock/alternative, this is obviously not going to be an issue because in our music video we will be creating our own star image with our actors.
Bastille's website shows a variety of different social media, this is going to appeal to the younger half of the target audience as they will mainly be the online generation and this will broaden the interactive part of the website and make the band seem more modern. Their website is very much themed around their new album "Wild World" and the background of the website is the same as the artwork for the actual album.
Bastille have used cross media convergence by not only making the artwork and the website the same, they have also made their social media accounts the same layout to really promote their album.
Gabrielle Aplin
Gabrielle Aplin is a British indie rock/indie folk singer and songwriter. She has quite an indie fashion sense and mixes her black clothes with bright and glittery shirts. The fact that she alternates her brown hair with different brightly coloured hair helps reiterate the rock part of her image, along with her various tattoos. This image is shown mainly through her Twitter account and the way it is set out.
Gabrielle Aplin's website is also themed around her newest album, "Light Up The Dark" as the webpage is mainly black, but the image of her is highlighted with a spotlight, as if she was lighting up the dark. There is also a promotion to buy the album at the top if the webpage.
There is also a few social media links featured on the website, there is less than there is on the Bastille webpage but there is a suitable amount of links to appeal to a younger generation and to make the artist more modern and interactive.
